About Me

framed-me

Welcome to Finding Perfect! A blog site for me to share my thoughts, opinions, experience, creative efforts, and other information. I’m glad you’re here.

I’m a native of North Texas, and after living out of state for almost 10 years, I’ve returned and it’s where I now live.

I’m a dog mom and pretty serious about that title.

This is my Parker. I can tell you without a doubt, that look says it all. She’s a tiny girl with a huge personality. She’s by far the most vocal of all my girls and terribly brave. She loves everyone and will let anyone hold, pet, or love on her. She is my heart.

This is my Gigi. She had attitude for days. Independent and very stubborn, she always kept an eagle eye on her surroundings. She tolerated me being a helicopter dog mom, but only just. She had the most beautiful silver coat and shiny black eyes. From the moment I saw her online, I knew I needed her in my life. She was my conscience.

And this is my Lucy. My first schnauzer. I got her when I was living outside of Texas and she was the easiest dog, ever. She was more human-like than she was canine, and she put up with me trying to feel may way through being a first time dog mom. Even though I had grown up with dogs, it was a different place to be the one responsible for her health and well being. I’ll never have another one like her. She was my soul.

If you go by my education, I’m a lawyer. If you go by my history, I was a prosecutor. If you go by my most recent job, I was a registrar for an art museum.

Mostly, I’m an information gatherer, and I enjoy passing what I learn on to others. I’m also fairly organized and function much more effectively when my environment is in some semblance of order.

I’m going to share information, instructions, tips, tricks, hacks, and ideas about:

  • the home – design; decor; do-it-yourself; organization; food; drinks
  • health – nutrition; exercise; diet; self-care
  • beauty – makeup; hair; skincare; nails
  • travel – where to go; what to see; what to take; how to get there; where to stay, eat, and visit; how to pack
  • lifestyle – parties and entertaining; holidays; books; music

I want to motivate you to be creative, to spark ideas. I want to encourage you to go beyond your current, to try new things, to experience new places and meet new people, but I also want you to be comfortable and feel content in your own company, in your own space. The most important thing to me, is for us to support each other in our efforts, whatever direction we may go.

Why finding perfect?

From the moment people start asking you, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” a picture starts forming in your head about what your life will look like. Who you will be. Where you will be. What you will be doing. Who will be doing it with you. The picture changes over time and you eventually figure out your entire life is about searching for your ideal, because perfect is a journey, not a destination, and ultimately we never stop looking for it or determining what it is for us.

I would love to hear what ‘finding perfect‘ means to you. Tell me in the comments.

A little bit of fun:

Things I like: traveling, old movies, thunderstorms, autumn, anonymity

Things I don’t: hypocrisy, pulpy orange juice, ungratefulness, entitlement

6 people at my dream dinner party: Ann Richards, Maya Angelou, Mick Jagger, Thurgood Marshall, British Suffragist Christabel Pankhurst, Barack Obama

My good qualities: sense of fairness, supportive, passionate

My not so good qualities: I’m impatient, easily irritated, unforgiving, don’t always know when to let it go and move on, and I let anger affect me far more than I should.
